The Joys of Outdoor Work

I ran to the gym the other night. It's a 12 minute run, which is a perfect cardio warm-up. During my run, I picked up 2 ticks. I didn't notice them until I was on the floor, doing my mat routine. Eww!!!

I'm not a girly girl. You'd think I'd picked up a tick before. Never. This was my first experience. I feel like they are still crawling on me *heebie-jeebies*. Luckily, they were just wood ticks. I know I'll experience many more by the end of summer... and several other things:

Black Flies
Mosquito Swarms
Sweltering Heat
Stinging Nettles
Poison Ivy
Injuries from birds
Injuries from myself
and unsightly tan lines (like raccoon eyes from my sunglasses)

I've missed you, Outdoors!

Oh no, not ticks! Looks like I can comment now too! Be careful out there, I'd hate to lose you to a bird related injury! Especially since I'm sure the bird is protected, so I couldn't get revenge! :-D

  2. Silly, why would you want to take revenge on a bird? they've got a brain the size of a wrinkle on a pea!

  3. Ack, I really don't like ticks. Last one I had, Slash pulled it off of my back and ripped off about 1 1/2 inches of skin too (just to be safe).

We've got a couple of those hats with the screen netting that rolls up in the brim for black fly season....should Tim be packing one up for his trip?

I hear ya, Jen. I love nature but sometimes I wish nature loved me too!
